Chrysanthemum DLFDGRN 5

Growing Guide: DLDGRN 5 Chrysanthemum

Working with the DLDGRN 5 variety from Deliflor Royalties B.V. reveals a classic example of Dutch horticultural efficiency. This bush-type chrysanthemum is a practical choice for both professional growers and garden enthusiasts. Its height range of 30–60 cm provides excellent structural integrity, making it less prone to wind damage or lodging compared to taller cultivars.

Operational Insights

The standout feature here is the striking green bloom. To maintain this vibrant color, the plant requires full sun exposure. Shaded areas significantly dull the green intensity. When managed for cut flower production, the DLDGRN 5 is highly efficient; it requires minimal staking, which reduces the overall man-hours per crop cycle.

• Lighting: Strict requirement for sunny spots to ensure peak pigment development.
• Maintenance: Moderate height allows for easy pruning and harvesting without complex equipment.
• Cut Longevity: The stems are rigid and possess excellent post-harvest water uptake, lasting up to two weeks in a vase.

For those managing the crop, the primary focus should be air circulation. Even though the plant is compact, adequate spacing prevents fungal issues, especially if you are using overhead irrigation. When used in landscape design, its unique green hue works exceptionally well as a neutral yet sophisticated textural element that bridges more colorful flower beds.
