Chrysanthemum DLFLEON 1

Genetic Potential and Morphology of the DLFLEON 1 Variety

Breeding by the Dutch company Deliflor Royalties B.V. represents the quintessence of modern technology in ornamental horticulture. DLFLEON 1 is a highly specialized chrysanthemum hybrid where every plant parameter is determined to achieve maximum aesthetic density within minimal dimensions.

Technical Compactness Specs

The primary engineering goal in creating this variety was to maintain a "low-growth" status (up to 30 cm). The plant's genetic architecture prevents excessive internode elongation, allowing it to maintain its shape even during rapid growth. The spherical shape of the inflorescence is achieved through dense tillering, making the plant an ideal subject for container and pot cultivation.

Agrotechnical Features and Flowering Parameters

• Inflorescence Diameter: Large-flowered status (10+ cm) combined with a height of up to 30 cm creates a unique contrast uncommon for most low-growing varieties.
• Color Intensity: The rich purple pigment is the result of selective work by Arie Gerard Post, aimed at color stability under UV exposure.
• Aromatic Profile: A pronounced, distinct fragrance is a rare trait for modern chrysanthemums, achieved through breeding for increased essential oil content.

To realize the full potential of the variety, strict adherence to lighting requirements is necessary — selecting exclusively sunny locations is critical for forming a dense bud. High frost resistance allows the plant to adapt to spring planting, demonstrating resilience to temperature fluctuations, making DLFLEON 1 a reliable tool for professional landscape design and commercial horticulture.
