Description Raisin
The variety was obtained at the Institute of Irrigated Horticulture of the Ural Academy of Agricultural Sciences by M.T. Oratovskiy and N.I. Turovtshev from crossing the varieties Franz Joseph x Black Eagle. It was introduced into the State Register in 1990 for the North Caucasus region.
The tree is large and fast-growing. The crown is spherical and dense. Branches are thick, straight, brown. Leaves are large, elongated-oval, measuring 15 x 7 cm. Leaf margins are finely toothed. Petioles are 40-45 mm long, medium-sized, pigmented. Stipules are round, medium-sized, colored, in 2-4. Buds are medium-sized, oval, 5 mm long.
Fruits are large, weighing 6-7 g, round, dark red. The fruit apex is rounded and indented, the base has a depression. The pit is small and wide. The ventral suture is small, the pedicel is 40-42 mm long, thick, easily detaches from the twig. Fruit detachment is dry. Skin is thin and dense. Flesh is dark red, juicy, dense, somewhat fibrous. Juice is dark red. Flavor is sweet. The tasting score of fresh fruits is 4.6 points. Fruits contain 20.12% dry matter, 13.5% sugars, 0.53% acid. Stone is small, round, semi-free.
Yield is 118.8 centners per hectare. Winter hardiness is medium. The variety is resistant to moniliosis, but is more susceptible to bacterial canker when grafted onto cherry rootstocks.
Advantages of the variety: suitability for mechanical harvesting, versatility in use.
Disadvantages: large tree size and relatively small fruit mass.
