Carrot Fatima

Carrot variety 'Fatima' is a late-maturing type with flaky-type roots, characterized by smooth skin and juicy flesh. Root length varies from 18 to 30 cm, with bright orange flesh and a small core. This variety contains a high amount of dry matter and sugars, making it popular in the food industry. Carrots 'Fatima' can be processed into juice, puree, concentrates, and are suitable for freezing and drying. Additionally, the roots are suitable for fresh consumption and long-term storage.

The carrot tops are semi-erect, which facilitates mechanical harvesting and increases resistance to pathogens. The plant prefers light, loose, deeply cultivated light loamy soils. For successful cultivation, avoid fresh manure and thinning is recommended if the planting is too dense. Seeds are sown at a depth of 1-1.5 cm, with a sowing rate of 4-5 g per 10 m².

Carrot 'Fatima' is light-loving and can be grown either by direct sowing or by seedlings. To improve germination, seeds are recommended to be pre-treated with potassium permanganate.
