Carrot SHANTENE ROYAL

Built for Processing and Efficiency

The «Shantene Korolevskaya» (Royal Chantenay) from Agrofirma Poisk is a tactical choice for growers who prioritize mechanized harvesting and supply chains destined for processing facilities. The Chantenay type is renowned for its performance in heavy, dense soils where long-rooted varieties often fail, deform, or develop secondary roots. This cultivar is a reliable workhorse for farms supplying raw materials for canning, freezing, or dehydrating industries.

Field Application and Operational Advantages

• Early Production via Plastic Tunneling: With a maturation window of 90-100 days, this variety fits perfectly into early-season production schedules. Using plastic cover allows growers to bypass late spring frosts and accelerate initial root development, ensuring a head start on the market.
• Industrial Efficiency: The roots, weighing 150-200 grams with a standard conical shape, are optimized for industrial washing and slicing lines. The uniform size and blunt tip minimize waste during processing—a critical factor for profitability.
• Resilience on Challenging Soils: Unlike delicate varieties, this Chantenay type maintains its structure even in heavy soil conditions. It avoids the common problem of root bifurcation, ensuring a high percentage of marketable produce at harvest time.

Visually and structurally, the 10-15 cm long, vibrant orange roots maintain their appeal throughout the logistics chain. For an agronomist, this means a predictable harvest. Under proper irrigation and pest management, the crop produces a uniform batch that meets both wholesale fresh-market standards and industrial requirements. It does not require complex or exotic cultivation methods, making it a stable, high-performance addition to any vegetable rotation plan.
