Bunka

Cabbage Bunka (KS 60) F1 — a medium-early hybrid of white cabbage, developed by the Japanese company Kitano Seeds. It is distinguished by high adaptability to various climatic conditions and agronomic practices, allowing it to be grown throughout Ukraine without a reduction in yield. The vegetation period is 60–65 days after transplanting when sown in spring and 70–80 days when sown in summer. The hybrid is intended for fresh consumption, processing, and long-term storage.

Bunka heads have a round shape, dense and uniform structure with a small core. The average fruit weight varies from 2 to 3 kg. Leaves are dark green, with white inner tissue and high juice content, ensuring excellent taste. The cabbage has a compact leafy canopy and well-developed root system. Due to its dense internal structure and resistance to cracking, it preserves well both in the field and during storage for 3–4 months.

The hybrid is resistant to fusarium and damage by thrips, and demonstrates stress tolerance under unfavorable growing conditions. The cabbage withstands transportation over any distance without loss of market quality, making it popular both in fresh vegetable markets and for secondary processing. Recommended planting density is 45–50 thousand plants per hectare, grown in open ground.
