Cabbage LINN

Maximizing Storage Potential: The «Linn» Hybrid Advantage

For commercial vegetable growers, the bridge between harvest and late-spring market demand is the most critical period for profitability. The late-maturing cabbage hybrid «Linn» from the Dutch breeding company Wing Seed is specifically engineered for long-term storage, providing a reliable yield of high-quality, uniform heads.

Operational Performance and Application

• Harvest and Maturity: With a growth cycle of 130–140 days, «Linn» is tailored for late-season production. The harvest period typically lands in October, allowing for an efficient workflow before the onset of harsh winter conditions.
• Marketable Yield: The hybrid produces round heads weighing 2.0–3.0 kg. This size range is ideal for modern logistics and retail, as it eliminates the need for intensive pre-packing processing.
• Storage Efficiency: The primary economic benefit of this variety is its shelf-life of 6–8 months. High-density internal structure ensures the produce remains crisp and marketable, reducing decay and trimming losses in storage facilities.

«Linn» is best suited for professional operations equipped with controlled-atmosphere or modern ventilation storage. By minimizing post-harvest losses, producers can effectively time their market supply, avoiding the peak harvest season glut and targeting the premium price windows in the winter and spring. Wing Seed’s pedigree in breeding ensures that the genetic potential of the hybrid translates into consistent, profitable harvests for those focused on high-quality winter cabbage supply.
