Cabbage GREEN STORM

Technical Agronomic Profile of Green Storm Cauliflower

Green Storm cauliflower, developed by Syngenta, is a high-performance hybrid designed for professional vegetable production. The primary value of this hybrid lies in its excellent adaptation to diverse growing conditions and high marketable yield, making it suitable for both the fresh market and industrial processing sectors.

Development Metrics and Yield Potential

The biological cycle of this hybrid, from transplanting to technical maturity, spans 70 to 80 days. This early-to-mid maturity allows growers to implement efficient relay cropping strategies, optimizing field utility throughout the growing season. The head weight typically ranges from 1.0 to 2.0 kg. The dense, compact structure of the curds ensures superior transportability and extended shelf life, which is a critical requirement for long-distance logistics and retail presentation.

Planting Density Guidelines

To achieve the target head weight and uniformity, the manufacturer recommends a planting density of 35,000 to 40,000 plants per hectare. This spacing minimizes intra-crop competition, allowing adequate room for high-quality curd development and ensuring sufficient airflow within the root and leaf zone, which effectively reduces the risk of fungal pathologies.

Syngenta Genetic Engineering Advantages

Green Storm integrates extensive R&D efforts from Syngenta’s international breeding centers, including Svalof Weibull AB and facilities in the UK. The stability of this hybrid is rooted in rigorous parental line selection, which guarantees uniform crop maturity. In intensive agricultural environments, where yield consistency is paramount, the utilization of this hybrid minimizes the risks of quality degradation during temperature fluctuations often experienced during the critical maturation phase.
