Cabbage BELKORT

Consistency in Mid-Season Production

The «Belkorte» cauliflower variety from Dutch breeder Rijk Zwaan is the professional’s choice for those who prioritize a balance between market-ready aesthetics and culinary quality. In the mid-season segment, this hybrid stands out for its flexibility and reliability, which are crucial for farmers supplying both fresh markets and processing facilities.

Agronomic Profile

With a vegetation period of 70–80 days after transplanting, Belkorte provides a perfect window for high-quality production during the summer and autumn seasons. The heads feature a dense, uniform structure, typically weighing between 1.0 and 2.0 kg. A key advantage of this hybrid is its ability to form well-developed florets even under stressful thermal conditions, protecting your investment from quality loss.

Strengths and Considerations

• Self-Wrapping Ability: The foliage is designed to cover the head effectively, preventing yellowing from UV exposure and maintaining a clean, white appearance.
• Versatility: Its high density makes it an ideal candidate for freezing and industrial processing, while the superior presentation makes it a favorite for supermarket retail.
• Nutritional Requirements: Like most premium Rijk Zwaan hybrids, Belkorte thrives under intensive cultivation techniques. It performs best when supplied with adequate nitrogen, as the head size is directly linked to the fertility of the soil.

Belkorte is the ideal choice for large-scale agricultural enterprises planning continuous supply chains, as well as for individual farmers who value proven genetics and predictable results. It is a reliable performer that delivers consistency when the harvest window arrives.
