Buckwheat Kalina

The Kalina variety of Tatar buckwheat is the result of individual selection from a local population and belongs to the vigorous growth type. The parental population originates from China and belongs to the round variety. The plant is tall, reaching heights of about 120 cm and more, which contributes to the formation of a large number of first-order branches. The vegetation period of the variety is 87 days, of which 38 days fall on the vegetative phase and 49 days on the generative phase.

Kalina is characterized by high yield, reaching 2.28 tons per hectare, making it promising for agricultural production. A significant advantage of the variety is high spikelet fertility, averaging 4.4 seeds per spike, which contributes to increased overall product output. In addition, the variety exhibits high resistance to fruit drop, rated 5 points, as well as uniform ripening, which facilitates harvest and reduces losses.

These characteristics make the Kalina variety attractive to farmers seeking a stable and high-quality buckwheat harvest. High resistance to fruit drop and uniform fruit ripening ensure ease of agronomic management and minimize losses during harvest. The variety is recommended for cultivation in regions with suitable climatic conditions, where its potential for maximum yield and grain quality can be fully utilized.
