Quartet bean is a mid-early bush variety of Siberian selection intended for cultivation in open ground. Medium-height plants form vertically standing bushes with pods 14–15 cm long. The pods have a uniform dark green coloration, are straight or slightly curved, of medium size, with an elliptical or oval cross-section. An important feature of Quartet bean is the absence of parchment layer and fibers, making it tender and pleasant to the taste. The variety is characterized by high yield — up to 12–15 tons per hectare, as well as good disease resistance. The vegetative period lasts 75–80 days, allowing for an early harvest. Quartet bean is suitable for use in home cooking, as well as for canning and freezing at the milk-wax stage of maturity. For fresh consumption, multiple harvests are recommended, while for processing, a single harvest is advised. When growing Quartet bean, soil requirements should be taken into account: the crop develops poorly on heavy, cold, and acidic soils and reacts negatively to chlorine-containing fertilizers, which should be avoided. Thanks to its taste qualities and versatility of application, Quartet bean is an excellent choice for the fresh market and processing.
