Barley Bella

Stable Yields: The Potential of 'Bella' Winter Barley

For farmers focused on producing high-quality feed and malting grain, choosing seed material from Nordsaat Saatzucht is a strategic move for economic efficiency. The two-row winter barley variety 'Bella' is a German breeding achievement, designed for farms that aim to minimize the fungicidal load on their crops.

In intensive farming systems, the risk of leaf diseases can significantly reduce profitability. 'Bella' exhibits strong resistance to Helminthosporium and powdery mildew. This allows agronomists to optimize plant protection programs by reducing the number of costly chemical applications, which is essential when managing fields with a high disease pressure.

Agronomic Advantages

• Ear Type: The two-row structure guarantees superior grain uniformity, which is vital for meeting commercial market requirements.
• Field Resistance: Genetic protection against a complex of diseases allows the variety to maintain its photosynthetic leaf surface until full maturity, ensuring optimal grain filling.
• Adaptability: Nordsaat Saatzucht's breeding program is adapted to challenging climatic conditions, providing reliability in winter sowing operations.

A practical application for this variety is meeting early harvest requirements. Its early maturity allows for the efficient management of machinery and labor during the harvesting season. The two-row ear type is traditionally valued for higher grain test weight compared to multi-row varieties, making it highly competitive among grain buyers.

Utilizing 'Bella' requires following standard winter crop protocols: optimal sowing windows and seeding density management are key to forming a robust crop stand. By investing in 'Bella,' your farm secures a predictable result backed by the high standards of Nordsaat Saatzucht.
