TULUNSKY AMPHORA

Tulunsky Amphora is a variety of spring barley (Hordeum vulgare L.), developed by scientists-sелекционеры of the Irkutsk NIISKh and adapted for cultivation in the extreme continental climate of Siberia. Plants of the Tulunsky Amphora variety have medium-short or low growth habit with semi-upright culms and are resistant to lodging. The ear can be cylindrical or pyramidal, of medium density, with long barbed awns and strong anthocyanin pigmentation of the tips. The grain is large, weighing from 36 to 51 grams per thousand grains, with a non-hairy ventral groove and embracing lodicules. The variety is characterized by high yield, reaching up to 67.8 c/ha in some regions, and contains up to 13.7% protein, making it valuable for grain-fodder use.

Tulunsky Amphora demonstrates high resistance to a number of diseases, including loose smut and covered smut, as well as moderate resistance to loose smut and damage by the Hessian fly. Drought resistance and adaptation to harsh climatic conditions make this variety a reliable choice for Siberian agrarians.
