OMSK 100

OMSK 100 is a spring barley (Hordeum vulgare L.) variety characterized by two-rowed and hulled grain. It belongs to medium-early maturing and medium-height crops with a vegetative period ranging from 71 to 84 days. The weight of 1000 grains varies between 43-55 grams, indicating large grain size. The variety is intended for grain and fodder use and is recommended for cultivation in various regions of Siberia, including the Omsk and Kemerovo regions, as well as forest-steppe and subtaiga zones of Western and Eastern Siberia. OMSK 100 is distinguished by its high resistance to lodging and drought, ensuring yield stability under unfavorable weather conditions. It shows moderate resistance to powdery bunt and loose smut, with infestation by powdery and stone bunt lower than standard levels. At the same time, the variety is susceptible to helminthosporium and root rot, which requires attention during agronomic activities. Protein content in the grain is 13.8-14.1%, lysine is 354 mg per 100 g, and starch is about 53%, making the grain nutritious and valuable for fodder purposes. The variety demonstrates high yield, reaching maximum figures of up to 6.55 tons per hectare under optimal growing conditions.
