Maize Ghidamak

Yield Potential and Reliability

Working with the "Haidamak" hybrid, one immediately appreciates the selection stability of the V. Y. Yuriev Institute. This is a specialized product for the popcorn market, and the approach to its cultivation differs significantly from standard starch-based varieties. From an operator's perspective, its uniformity and predictability during harvesting are the key advantages.

Field Performance and Management

• Sowing Characteristics: The hybrid demonstrates stable germination energy. This allows for maintaining target plant density, which is critical for maximizing the yield of high-quality, "explosive" kernels.
• Harvesting Dynamics: The stalk is resistant to lodging, which significantly simplifies combine operations. Threshing is efficient, provided the threshing drum clearances are precisely adjusted to protect the delicate kernel hull—the very component responsible for the high expansion ratio of the popcorn.
• Agronomic Management: The crop is responsive to nutrient balancing. A high yield is only achievable with an optimal agro-background, but the input costs are quickly offset by the high market liquidity of the finished raw material for the processing industry.

"Haidamak" does not tolerate delayed harvesting. Operational logistics and strict adherence to the schedule are the keys to obtaining not just biomass, but high-grade raw material for the food industry. Managing fields with this hybrid is performance-oriented work, where every stage—from planting to drying—is focused on maintaining kernel integrity.
