Barley Gerkules

Focus on Stability and the Potential of Yuryev Breeding

Spring barley 'Herkules' is a landmark product in the portfolio of the V. Ya. Yuryev Plant Production Institute (NAAS). Developed by Ukrainian breeders, this variety has been proving its effectiveness for decades in a temperate continental climate, providing farmers with predictable results even under challenging weather conditions.

Agronomic Profile

This variety belongs to mid-season spring barley types. Its popularity is due to a combination of high tillering capacity and endurance. The adaptive capabilities of 'Herkules' allow it to efficiently utilize soil moisture during critical development phases, which is essential for regions with unstable precipitation patterns.

• Yield: Demonstrates high genetic potential under intensive cultivation technologies.
• Grain Quality: High protein content makes it suitable for both fodder purposes and the processing industry.
• Resilience: The variety is characterized by increased resistance to lodging and shattering, simplifying the harvesting process and reducing crop losses.

'Herkules' holds a steady niche in agricultural enterprises focused on balanced grain production. It is the choice for those who value time-tested solutions while supporting the domestic scientific school. Over years of widespread adoption, the variety has established itself as a reliable performer, capable of delivering strong results across various soil types when standard agricultural practices are followed.
