Dokuchaevskiy 15

Dokuchaevskiy 15 — this is a medium-maturing barley variety, developed by the V. V. Dokuchaev National University in Kharkiv, recommended for cultivation in the Polissia and forest-steppe zones. The vegetation period of the variety is 80-85 days, and the plant height reaches 72 cm. The ear is two-rowed, ensuring high grain extractability at 78% and starch content of 62%. The variety is characterized by resistance to lodging, black spot, false powdery mildew, and helminthosporium, making it a reliable choice for various soil types and climatic conditions. Protein content in the grain is 10.5–10.9%, and the thousand-grain weight is 46 g, indicating high product quality. The yield potential of the variety reaches 7.3 t/ha, confirming its effectiveness in agricultural production. Studies conducted at the Dokuchaevskiy Research Field of the National Agrarian University in Kharkiv between 2012–2014 showed that the optimal seeding rate for this variety is 5.0 million seeds per hectare, ensuring maximum yield. Additionally, it was established that the high efficiency of combined application of special crystalline fertilizer along with the biopreparation 'Agro EM' allows increasing yield from 2.31 to 2.43 t/ha compared to the control. This fertilization approach contributes to improved grain structure and overall productivity of the Dokuchaevskiy 15 variety, making it promising for widespread use in agriculture.
