Moris — a high-yielding, early maturing eggplant hybrid, intended for fresh consumption, canning, and processing. The fruits have an oval, elongated shape, approximately 15 cm in length and 5 cm in width, dark purple in color with a glossy surface, indicating high product quality. Due to its characteristics, the fruits have high transportability and good storability, making them convenient for storage and transportation.
The plant is robust and tall with a well-developed root system, ensuring resistance to stressful growing conditions. Moris requires cultivation on light-textured, moderately moist soils. Eggplant is a warm- and moisture-loving crop: pollination of flowers stops and fruit set begins to decline when air temperature falls below 15 °C. During hot summer days, regular watering is especially important, particularly during flowering, to ensure optimal conditions for fruit formation.
The recommended planting density is 40,000 plants per hectare. To achieve high yields, consider predecessors such as cucumbers, cabbage, legumes, and winter wheat. Moris poorly tolerates transplanting and recovers slowly after relocation, so it is better to sow seeds directly into prepared soil. First seedlings emerge approximately on the 10th day after planting.
