Helios

The Helios eggplant variety is a medium-early hybrid with a vegetation period of 95 to 120 days. The plants are vigorous, reaching up to one meter in height, ensuring good development and abundant fruiting. The fruits have a round-oval shape, resembling barrels, and are colored red-purple. The weight of one fruit ranges from 200 to 450 grams, making them large and attractive for various culinary purposes.

The flesh of Helios eggplants is creamy, dense, and has a delicate sweet flavor without bitterness. This structure and taste make this variety suitable for fresh consumption, as well as for canning, processing, and preparing diverse dishes at home. The dense skin of the fruits is resistant to damage, does not rot during storage and transport, significantly extending their freshness.

For successful cultivation, Helios prefers fertile loamy and clayey soils with good lighting and protection from wind. It is recommended to grow through seedlings, sowing seeds in February-March and transplanting into open ground after the threat of frost has passed, approximately 60-70 days later. During the vegetation period, regular watering, soil loosening, and fertilization are essential to achieve high yields — up to 5.5-6 kg per square meter. This variety is excellent for roasting, grilling, making side dishes, and salads.
