Description Almaz
The Almaz eggplant variety is a mid-early and high-yielding type, distinguished by its resistance to various diseases and low maintenance requirements. The vegetative period is approximately 70-80 days from transplanting seedlings, allowing for a stable harvest both in open ground and under greenhouse conditions. The plant reaches a height of 40-60 cm, has a branched and sufficiently leafy structure with a large number of fruit set points. The variety prefers abundant sunlight and warmth, yet does not require complex care or frequent watering. Fruit production continues until the first frost, extending the harvest period.

The fruits of the Almaz eggplant are elongated-cylindrical in shape, 14-17 cm long, weighing between 120 and 200 grams. The skin is dark purple, thin and shiny, while the flesh is dense with a greenish tint, free of bitterness. The fruit's calyx lacks spines, facilitating harvesting. The variety exhibits high resistance to viral diseases such as mosaic, immunity to phytoplasmosis, and moderate resistance to fusarium, blossom end rot, and phytophthora. However, additional treatment is required for protection against the Colorado beetle.

The Almaz eggplant is valued for its excellent taste and culinary qualities. The fruits are suitable for frying, stewing, grilling, and are also ideal for canning, marinating, pickling, and freezing. High yield — up to 4 kg per square meter — combined with heat and disease resistance makes this variety popular among farmers and gardeners. A compact bush with a strong root system and dense vegetative mass ensures stable growth and fruiting even under adverse conditions.
