Aster Odarka

A Bold Purple Classic from Ukrainian Breeders

The 'Odarka' aster is a result of research by the Institute of Horticulture of the NAAS, successfully competing with imported hybrids thanks to its excellent adaptation to local climates. Unlike many high-maintenance varieties, this annual demonstrates remarkable resistance to Fusarium wilt, solving one of the most common challenges for flower growers.

Key Specifications

• Flower: Semi-spherical shape with a rich purple hue. Blossoms reach 10–15 cm in diameter, making them a striking focal point in any arrangement.
• Growth habit: The plant stands 50–80 cm tall with sturdy stems that support the heavy heads without sagging.
• Versatility: This variety is equally impressive in cut arrangements, flower beds, or as a container plant.

Who is 'Odarka' for?

This variety is an optimal choice for gardeners seeking a balance between aesthetic appeal and ease of maintenance. If you have struggled with asters perishing from fungal diseases mid-season, 'Odarka' serves as a reliable alternative. While it is an annual and requires seasonal replanting, this is compensated by the predictably high quality of the blooms. It is particularly well-suited for professional flower farming, where long stems and longevity in a vase are essential performance indicators.
