Aster Novella

Stability and Aesthetics: The Novella Perennial Aster

The 'Novella' perennial aster is a selection product developed by the Federal Scientific Center for Vegetable Growing. Its primary value lies in the balance between high ornamental qualities and biological resilience. Unlike many annual hybrids that require yearly replanting, 'Novella' is a true perennial capable of overwintering in open ground without significant loss.

Key Advantages

• Pathogen Resistance: The variety shows strong resistance to Fusarium wilt. This is a critical feature, as Fusarium is the primary threat to most asters, frequently destroying entire flowerbeds in a single season.
• Balanced Dimensions: Reaching heights of 50–80 cm, this plant is perfectly suited for middle and rear rows in landscaping arrangements.
• Blooming Aesthetics: The semi-spherical flowers, measuring 8–10 cm in diameter, feature a pure white color, making them versatile elements for minimalist or natural-style garden designs.

Who is this variety for?

'Novella' is ideal for gardeners who value a balance between aesthetic appeal and low maintenance. It is a reliable solution for borders and flowerbeds where visual consistency and predictable development are required. While it requires proper winter preparation and timely pruning, it rewards the owner with a lush, healthy bush year after year. If you are looking for planting material that does not require annual renewal and minimizes the need for fungicide treatments, this variety is a rational long-term investment for your garden.
