Aster Oksana

Oksana Aster: Proven Ukrainian Breeding

The Oksana aster is a distinguished variety developed by the Institute of Horticulture of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences (NAAS) of Ukraine. This variety reflects years of local breeding expertise, offering gardeners a plant that is specifically adapted to the climatic conditions of the region. It stands out in the market as a reliable and high-performance choice for those who value genetic stability and predictable blooming patterns.

Physical Traits and Dimensions

Oksana is categorized as an annual aster, well-suited for mid-level planting designs. With a mature height of 30–50 cm, it avoids the floppiness often associated with taller varieties, remaining compact and tidy throughout the season. The star feature is its flower size; the vibrant pink blossoms reach an impressive diameter of 10–15 cm. The sheer scale of these blooms compared to the plant's overall height creates a striking visual impact.

Landscaping Utility

• Flowerbeds: Its balanced proportions make it an excellent candidate for mass planting, creating dense, colorful patches.
• Garden Accents: The intense pink color provides a perfect focal point in sunny border areas.
• Seasonal Color: As a non-hardy annual, Oksana is best used as a seasonal "show-stopper" that provides maximum visual return for a single growing cycle.

For optimal results, this variety thrives in fertile soils with consistent moisture. While it does not survive the winter, its quick growth rate and large, showy flowers make it a favorite for gardeners looking to transform their flowerbeds during the warm months. Whether utilized in professional landscaping or home gardens, Oksana represents a consistent and high-quality horticultural product.
