Aster HAVSKY RUBIN

Breeding and Performance

Khavsky Rubin is a notable variety developed by the Federal Scientific Center for Vegetable Growing. It stands out in the annual aster segment due to its genetic resistance to Fusarium wilt, a common challenge that often compromises less stable varieties in damp or variable climate conditions. This variety reflects the focused effort of researchers aiming for both visual impact and horticultural reliability.

Key Characteristics and Utility

As an annual aster, Khavsky Rubin features robust stems reaching 50-80 cm in height, topped with impressive needle-shaped flowers that span 10-15 cm in diameter. Its vibrant form and size make it a standout choice for those looking to add structure and depth to their garden.

• Disease Resistance: Enhanced defense against Fusarium ensures higher plant survival rates throughout the growing season.
• Versatile Landscaping: Its stature makes it well-suited for the back rows of borders or as a primary element in garden beds.
• Floristic Value: The tight, needle-like petals are excellent for cut flower arrangements, offering a long vase life compared to common varieties.

Because it is an annual, Khavsky Rubin does not overwinter, making it a seasonal plant that should be replanted every spring. It is the optimal choice for gardeners who prioritize health and performance over longevity. It is effectively designed for those who want professional-grade blooms that can withstand soil-borne pathogens and deliver a consistent, high-quality aesthetic throughout the summer and autumn months.
