Aster Ayaks

A Professional Choice for Flower Farming

The «Ajax» aster is a reliable variety for growers focused on cut flowers or large-scale commercial landscaping. Developed by the Federal Scientific Center for Vegetable Production, this variety offers high adaptability to various climatic conditions, serving as a predictable and efficient tool for professional agronomists.

Operational Scenarios and Cultivation

The true value of «Ajax» lies in its morphological consistency, making it suitable for specific commercial tasks:

• Commercial Cut Flower Production: With sturdy stems, this variety is optimized for floral arrangements. The blossoms retain their turgor for an extended period, which is essential for transport and retail shelf life.
• Landscape Design: The stable growth habit makes it an excellent choice for planting in large borders or mass floral displays. It maintains its aesthetic appeal well into the autumn, providing season-long decoration.

For best results, «Ajax» requires well-drained, fertile soil and full sun exposure. By scheduling plantings for late summer, growers can target the peak market demand for high-quality cut flowers, maximizing the profitability of the crop.

Why Choose This Variety?

Unlike many imported hybrids, «Ajax» has been bred for resilience against the temperature fluctuations typical of the region. The breeders (Kornilov A.S. and Lapina N.V.) prioritized genetic purity and plant vigor, which simplifies crop management and reduces the costs associated with plant protection. It is a pragmatic choice for farmers who prioritize consistent output over the risks of experimenting with sensitive, high-maintenance genetics.
