Viollette is a perennial herbaceous plant forming extensive bushes up to 140 cm high and 80 cm wide. The plant stems are strong, woody, rigid, and upright, with strong branching at the top, giving the bush volume and density. The leaves are dark green, lanceolate, and smooth, which highlights the plant's decorative qualities. After the first year of cultivation, the bush does not require support and is resistant to mold, making care easier.
Viollette blooms in August and continues until October; during this period the plant is covered with numerous inflorescences. The inflorescences consist of lilac-purple flower heads about 3.5-4 cm in diameter, gathered in large paniculate clusters. The flowers have a daisy-like shape with lilac-blue petals and a bright yellow center, ranging from 5 to 7 cm in diameter. Such blooming makes Viollette an attractive element in the garden in late summer and autumn.
The plant is widely used in landscape design to create borders, rabats, and the back plans of mixed borders. It is excellent for greening rockeries, growing in containers, and decorating terraces and staircases. Viollette blends well with other decorative plants, allowing for the creation of harmonious compositions. To maintain the decorative effect, it is recommended to divide the bush every 4-5 years.
