Variety with winter fruit ripening, developed by the All-Russian Research Institute of Fruit Crop Selection, obtained by crossing the Renet Chernenko variety with selected seedling 11-1-122 (Antonovka ordinary x pollen mixture of high-vitamin varieties Yellow Ribbed + Late Sweet) in 1978. Breeders: E. N. Sedov, Z. M. Serova, N. G. Krasova, Z. A. Sedova, S. E. Sokolova. In 1997, the variety was accepted for State Testing in the Central-Chernozem and Central regions.
Trees of medium size. Sparse, drooping crown. Branches diverge from the trunk at a sharp angle, curved, spaced apart. Branch ends point downward. Bark on the trunk and main branches is gray. Predominant types of fruit formations: simple and complex rings, spear-like and spurs.
Shoots are thick, straight, round in cross-section, brownish, hairy. Few buds on shoots. Buds are pressed, small, awl-shaped, swollen. Leaves are egg-shaped, short-pointed, dark green, wrinkled, matte, with coarse venation. Leaf blade is concave, slightly hairy. Leaf margin is toothed, slightly wavy. Petiole is slightly hairy, with anthocyanin coloration. Stipules are small, awl-shaped, swollen.
Flowers are large, saucer-shaped, buds light pink, petals round, overlapping, white; stigmas are positioned either above or below the anthers.
Fruits (see photo) are medium-sized (140 g), flattened, ribbed, well-shaped. Fruit skin is smooth, shiny. Main color at harvest maturity is greenish, at consumer maturity it becomes greenish-yellow. Cover color appears as a blurred pink blush on half the fruit surface. Numerous, large, gray, barely noticeable lenticels. Peduncle is short, thick. Calyx tube is deep, acute-conical, narrow. Calyx is closed. Receptacle is narrow, ridged. Heart is large, reverse-heart-shaped. Seed chambers are small, half-open. Sub-calyx tube is long, funnel-shaped. Seeds are medium-sized, cup-shaped, dark brown.
Fruit flesh is greenish, firm, juicy. Taste is sour-sweet. Fruits are rated 4.2 points for appearance and taste. Chemical composition of fruits: total sugars — 10.0%, titratable acids — 0.79%, ascorbic acid — 26.4 mg/100g, P-active substances — 651 mg/100g.
Fruit harvest in the Oryol region occurs at the beginning of September. Consumer period lasts until mid-March.
Fruits are good raw material for making compotes and jams.
Variety is early-bearing, yields moderate harvests with no strongly expressed periodicity. Variety has sufficient winter hardiness for the Central-Chernozem region. Relatively resistant to scab (at the level of Antonovka ordinary).
Advantages of the variety: early bearing, high content of ascorbic acid and P-active substances in winter-ripening fruits.
Disadvantages of the variety: not sufficiently bright fruit color.
