Richared Delicious

Apple tree of the Richared Delicious variety — a late-winter, high-yielding variety developed in Germany in 1951 by crossing Glockenapfel and Richard Delicious varieties. The tree is medium-sized, forming a compact, round or pyramidal crown with hanging branches. The variety is resistant to scab and other diseases, as well as cold-hardy, making it suitable for cultivation in various climatic conditions. Fruit production begins in the third year after planting, with high and stable yields, without a tendency toward periodicity.

The fruits of Richared Delicious are large, weighing from 180 to 250 grams, with a truncated-conical shape and ridges near the apex. Their color is a yellow background with intense dark-red blush covering most of the surface. The flesh is creamy, very juicy and crisp, with a pleasant sweet taste and a slight, almost imperceptible acidity. The fruits have excellent transportability and market appearance, making them suitable for both fresh consumption and for preparing various dishes and vitaminized beverages.

The harvest period falls at the end of September — beginning of October, and the fruits can be stored under cool conditions until April, retaining their flavor and nutritional qualities. Richared Delicious apples are rich in fiber, which aids digestion and reduces the risk of cancer. Additionally, they are beneficial for preventing cardiovascular diseases, aiding weight loss, and normalizing cholesterol levels, making this variety not only delicious but also a healthy choice for nutrition.
