Montuaner

Montuan apple variety — an autumn high-yielding variety with medium ripening period, ripening in early September. Medium-sized fruits, weighing 100–120 grams, have a round-conical, slightly flattened shape. Their color is greenish-yellow with striped blush covering a significant portion of the surface. The skin is thin but firm, with a characteristic waxy coating that helps retain moisture and extends fruit freshness. The flesh is creamy-colored, juicy and crisp, with a tart-sweet flavor.

Montuan trees are medium-sized with a broad-pyramidal crown of moderate density. Branches are straight and relatively thick. The variety is distinguished by excellent cold hardiness and resistance to diseases such as powdery mildew and scab, making it a reliable choice for cultivation in various climatic conditions. Trees begin to bear fruit as early as the 2nd–3rd year after planting.

Montuan is valued for its high productivity, good transportability, and attractive fruit appearance. The variety positively responds to fertilization, allowing for consistent and high-quality yields. Due to its characteristics and reliability, the Montuan apple is popular in Ukraine, Poland, and the Czech Republic.
