Description Aculovskaya Borovinka
An old Don region high-yielding variety of folk selection, originating from the village of Aculovka in the Yuryupin District of Volgograd Oblast. For many years it was recommended in the Lower Volga region and is now widely grown in Cossack stations on private plots and in farmers' households.

Medium-sized tree, with a broom-like shape and medium density. Fruit set occurs predominantly on spurs and short shoots ending in spurs. Fruit clusters are densely arranged on branches. Fruit bags are large, thick, elongated, and very large.

Shoots are thin, straight or slightly curved, brown or light-brown in color. Pubescence is strong, especially in the upper part of the shoot. Buds are relatively large and round.
Leaves are fairly large, oval, with a rounded base and elongated, often curled tip, with wavy, large-toothed, serrated margins (teeth broad, especially at the base). Leaf blade is relatively flat and slightly curved, with a slightly wrinkled surface. Petioles are fairly long, thin, and stipules are small or absent.

Fruits (see illustration) are above-average or average size, irregular in shape, medium-conical, slightly ribbed with a bumpy surface. Main color is light green, with a mottled blush covering most of the fruit, appearing as a blurred or dense red background. Small white lenticels are visible on the skin. Peduncles are short, thick, often curved, enclosed within a shallow cup.
Flesh is white, medium-firm and juicy, with a pleasant slightly acidic-sweet flavor and mild aroma. In its native region, fruits ripen in winter; in southern Lower Volga, they ripen late summer.

Trees are susceptible to freezing in harsh winters, but recover quickly.

Advantages of the variety: high yield, fruits are marketable, attractive, high quality, transportable, and suitable for long-term storage.

Disadvantages of the variety: moderate drought tolerance, weak heat resistance, and insufficient resistance to powdery mildew.
