The apricot variety 'Pink Fog' is a high-yielding tree of medium maturity, bred by Hungarian breeders and registered in the State Register of the Russian Federation. The tree is medium-sized with a pyramidal or round-elongated crown, reaching a height of about 4 meters. Leaves are large, egg-shaped with a tip, serrated edges, and slight waviness. Flowers are large, pink, with rounded petals and a light aroma. The tree has good immunity, high frost resistance, and resistance to main diseases such as clasterosporiasis and moniliasis, as well as heat and drought tolerance. The fruits are medium-sized, weighing about 70-80 grams, with an elongated or truncated-conical shape with a truncated apex and smooth orange skin covered with a bright red blush on the sun-exposed side. The flesh is rich yellow or light orange, dense, juicy, with a pleasant sweet-sour taste and a slight sourness. The pit is medium-sized, elliptical in shape, freely separates from the flesh, and the kernel is sweet. The fruits are suitable for fresh consumption, as well as drying and canning. The ripening period falls in the second half of July or early August, depending on growing conditions. The variety is self-sterile, so for successful pollination, it is recommended to plant other apricot varieties nearby. The tree prefers sunny, protected from cold winds locations and moist soils, while being little demanding on soil type. The optimal crown shape is micro-leader or vase-shaped, with regular pruning to maintain fruiting and rejuvenation. It is propagated mainly by grafting on rootstocks of apricot seedlings, cherry plum, plum, and sometimes almond or peach. Due to its qualities and resilience, the variety 'Pink Fog' is an excellent choice for cultivation in various climatic conditions.
