The genus is native to Australia and is widely distributed across the arid and semi-arid regions of the continent. These plants are exceptionally well-adapted to extreme heat, drought, and varying soil compositions characteristic of the outback.

For successful cultivation, Eremophila requires well-drained soil, preferably with a sandy or gravelly texture. Drainage is the most important factor in preventing root diseases, as the species cannot tolerate "wet feet" or waterlogged conditions.

Optimal growth is achieved under full sun exposure. These plants thrive in high-light environments and will lose their natural shape and flowering potential if grown in shaded or low-light conditions.

Eremophila species are often sensitive to phosphorus, a common trait among many Australian native plants. Using standard commercial fertilizers can be harmful, so specialized low-phosphorus formulations are recommended.
