Dischisma is a genus of flowering plants belonging to the Scrophulariaceae family. Native to the southern regions of Africa, these plants have evolved to thrive in specialized environments characterized by seasonal rainfall and well-drained soils.

The botanical features of Dischisma typically include small, hardy herbs or subshrubs with distinct floral structures. They are well-adapted to rocky or sandy soils that lack significant organic matter, reflecting their evolutionary history in arid landscapes.

Cultivation of Dischisma requires full sun exposure and excellent soil drainage. In temperate climates, they are often cultivated in containers or rock gardens to prevent water stagnation, which is the primary cause of plant failure.
