For optimal growth, Codonanthe requires bright, indirect light. While they can tolerate some shade, adequate luminosity is essential for maintaining dense foliage and promoting consistent flowering patterns throughout the growing season.

The growing medium must be highly porous and well-draining, mimicking the natural conditions of a tropical canopy. An ideal substrate usually consists of a mix of peat moss, perlite, and orchid bark to ensure root aeration.

Temperature management is crucial; the plant performs best in a range between 20°C and 25°C. Exposure to cold drafts or temperatures below 15°C can cause significant physiological stress and leaf drop.

High relative humidity is a prerequisite for success. Regular misting, the use of pebble trays, or automated humidifiers are recommended to prevent the edges of the thick, fleshy leaves from drying out.
