The Zebra variety of zucchini is an early-maturing, high-yielding bush variety with a vegetative period of about 38-40 days. The plant is compact, predominantly female-type flowering, which promotes abundant fruiting. The fruits have a cylindrical shape with weakly pronounced ribbing and a characteristic light-green color with longitudinal dark-green stripes. The fruit size reaches up to 25 cm in length, while the mass varies from 0.5 to 1 kg. The zucchini flesh is whitish-yellow, dense, crunchy, and juicy, with a small seed cavity, making it particularly attractive for culinary use. The Zebra variety is undemanding in growing conditions and can be successfully cultivated both in open ground and under film cover. Seeds are planted at a depth of 4-6 cm with an interval of 70 x 70 cm, the optimal planting time is early May. To obtain an early harvest, it is recommended to grow through seedlings in film tunnels. Zucchini grows well after leguminous crops, potatoes, onions, and garlic. Regular harvesting of fruits, about twice a week, allows fruiting to be extended until the end of summer. The fruits of the Zebra variety are versatile in use: they are used for canning, winter storage, and preparation of various dishes. Thanks to the dense and crunchy flesh, zucchini maintain their taste qualities for a long time; at room temperature they can be stored until March. For longer storage, it is recommended to maintain a temperature of about 10 degrees in the vegetable compartment of the refrigerator. High evaluation by tasters confirms the excellent taste characteristics of this variety.
