Description Zenga Zengana
Senga Sengana strawberry is a mid-late, high-yielding variety with aromatic, juicy dark-red berries of round-conical shape. Berries vary in size: early fruits can reach up to 30 grams, while later ones are about 10-15 grams. The flesh is dense, medium-firm, very tasty and aromatic, making this variety popular for both fresh consumption and processing. Harvesting lasts about a month, usually from mid-June to early July. Senga Sengana plants have medium-strong growth, compact and slightly spreading bush form with abundant dark green leaves. Flowering stems are located at leaf level or below, so mulching rows is recommended to prevent berry contamination. Bushes are strong and resistant to various climatic conditions, including frost and drought, and also exhibit high resistance to root diseases and nematodes. However, plants should be protected from leaf spot, gray mold, and strawberry mite. Senga Sengana is one of the best varieties for industrial cultivation, especially valued for its suitability for deep freezing and drying berries. High yield: about 1.5 kg per plant and up to 4 kg per square meter. Although transportable, strawberries do not tolerate long-term storage, so they are best used fresh or processed into frozen products and preserves. The variety maintains stable yield at the same location for up to six years.
