Allegro

Allegro strawberry is a new promising variety of Dutch selection developed by specialists of Fresh Forward. It belongs to early-maturing varieties with a ripening period coinciding with the popular variety 'Clery', but it stands out with higher yield. Harvesting in open ground begins around May 25, while in greenhouses berries ripen 10 days earlier. The plants are vigorous, tall with flower-bearing stems that can support large berries, ensuring a stable and uniform yield.

The berries of the Allegro variety have a conical shape with a rounded tip, bright red color and glossy sheen. The average weight of the fruits is about 30 grams, and the berries maintain their size throughout the fruiting period. The flesh has medium density, juicy, sweet with a slight acidity and pleasant aroma. Sugar content reaches 9%, making the taste of berries especially rich and sweet. The strawberry is excellent for fresh consumption, as well as for making jams and preserves.

The variety is characterized by high resistance to major diseases such as powdery mildew, phytophthora and verticillium, as well as good tolerance to temperature fluctuations. Allegro strawberry has a well-developed root system, enabling it to grow successfully on various soil types and overwinter without covering across the entire territory of Ukraine. Thanks to the large amount of pollen in the flowers, pollination is ensured, preventing the formation of deformed berries. Yield per plant reaches 500-900 grams, and the berries withstand long-distance transportation well.
