TALOVSKY 9

Talovsky 9 is a medium-maturing spring barley (Hordeum vulgare L.) variety intended for cultivation in various regions, including the Voronezh region and the North Caucasus region. The vegetative period lasts 76-87 days, ripening 2-3 days earlier than the standard Gonar. The plant is of medium height with a semi-upright tiller, characterized by a cylindrical, loose ear with a waxy coating of medium intensity and a large grain of high vitreousness and uniformity. The mass of 1000 grains varies from 43 to 53 grams, ensuring good yield and grain quality. The variety is distinguished by high resistance to root rot and loose smut, moderate resistance to lodging and hard smut, and weak susceptibility to powdery smut. In addition, Talovsky 9 demonstrates resilience to damage by the Hessian fly, which increases its reliability under various agro-climatic conditions. Drought resistance is at the level or slightly below the standard, which should be taken into account when choosing a cultivation region. Protein content in the grain is from 10.9 to 13.5%, making the variety suitable for both food and feed purposes according to GOST 16470-84. Talovsky 9 is recommended for milling and feed use due to its large grain and high quality. Average yield in cultivation regions reaches 22.3-31.3 c/ha, with maximum indicators up to 68.5 c/ha, indicating the high productivity of the variety.
