Barley NARAN

Hardy Winter Barley: Field Performance

The «Naran» winter barley variety, developed by the Siberian Federal Scientific Center of Agrobiotechnology, is engineered for resilience. As a six-row variety, it is built to perform in regions where overwintering and early spring establishment are the biggest challenges for an agronomist.

Operational Insights

• Field Stability: The straw strength of Naran makes it easy to handle during harvest. There is no need for excessive harvester adjustments, as the crop stands well, reducing grain loss and optimizing fuel consumption during the harvesting process.
• Growth Dynamics: The six-row spike architecture ensures a thick, competitive canopy. This effectively suppresses weed pressure, allowing you to optimize your herbicide application schedule and focus resources elsewhere.
• Winter Resilience: The primary economic benefit of Naran is its ability to survive harsh winters, preventing the costly necessity of reseeding. This reliability in the field simplifies your annual planning and ensures a more predictable yield volume.

For operators managing large acreages, Naran offers a blend of toughness and simplicity. It responds well to standard agronomic inputs and does not demand highly specialized equipment, making it a pragmatic choice for improving your farm's bottom line.
