Barley of the Nonius variety is a cereal crop recommended for cultivation in the forest-steppe zone. This medium-maturing variety was registered in 2017 by the National Academy of Agricultural Sciences of Ukraine and is primarily intended for grain use. Due to its adaptive properties, it is well-suited to regional climatic conditions and ensures a stable yield.
The grains of Nonius barley are distinguished by a high content of vitamins and minerals, surpassing many other cereal crops in nutritional value. They contain proteins that are fully assimilated by the body and, in quality, exceed wheat analogs. Moreover, the grain is enriched with natural antibacterial substances such as lysine and hordecin, which have antiviral effects and help combat fungal skin diseases.
Nonius barley is not only nutritious but also beneficial for health: it aids in cleansing the body of cholesterol, toxins, and waste, providing general strengthening and immune-boosting effects. Ground grains and decoctions are widely used in home cosmetology to maintain skin elasticity and firmness, slow down aging processes, and prevent premature wrinkles. Additionally, barley decoctions are used as antipyretics, help reduce stomach acidity, and ease symptoms of dry cough. This variety is also recommended for nursing mothers to increase lactation and strengthen bone and cartilage tissue.
