ORLOVSKAYA YESENIA

The Orlovskaya Yesenia apple tree is a late-maturing columnar variety with a semi-dwarf growth habit, making it compact and suitable for cultivation even in pots. The tree is medium-sized, fast-growing, with a columnar canopy and large green leaves with a bluish tint. Thanks to its compactness and small root system, the variety is suitable for limited spaces and urban conditions. Fruiting begins as early as the second year after planting and occurs annually, providing a stable yield.

The fruits of the Orlovskaya Yesenia variety are large, weighing about 170 grams, flattened-conical in shape with a smooth, broadly ribbed surface. The base color of the apples is light yellow, with a vividly expressed red blush that gives the fruits an attractive appearance. The flesh is white with a green tint, fine-grained and juicy, with a weak aroma. The taste is sour-sweet, highly rated by tasters at a level of 4.3–4.5 points, indicating high fruit quality.

The variety is characterized by high resistance to scab due to the presence of the Rvi6 (Vf) immunity gene, which significantly reduces the need for treatments and increases yield reliability. Apples are not prone to shedding and can remain on branches for a long time after reaching technical maturity. The crop is well stored until spring; under proper storage conditions, fruits retain their taste qualities until February. Fruit transportability is average, allowing them to be used for market sales.
