Apple BRABVEL

A Premium Aesthetic for the Winter Orchard

The 'Brebwell' apple variety, developed by the Crimean Fruit Company, stands out as a winter cultivar that bridges the gap between high-end aesthetics and refined dessert flavor. This variety is designed for growers who prioritize premium fruit presentation and long-term storability.

Growth Habit and Fruit Profile

The tree exhibits medium vigor with a wide-spreading canopy, a structure that facilitates efficient pruning and harvesting. 'Brebwell' fruits are characterized by a consistent round-cylindrical shape, typically weighing between 150 and 200 grams. Their appearance is defined by a greenish-yellow base color accented by a vivid, deep-red blush, making them highly marketable and visually distinct.

Sensory Experience and Climate Requirements

With a tasting score of 4.5 points, 'Brebwell' delivers a balanced, sweet-tangy flavor profile with a pleasant cream-colored flesh. While the fruit quality is top-tier, the tree's weak winter hardiness is a crucial factor. It is best suited for southern regions with mild winters, where the threat of harsh frost is minimal, allowing the tree to thrive without the need for extreme protective measures.

• Key Strengths: Exceptional market appeal, high dessert-quality taste, manageable tree structure.
• Considerations: Low cold tolerance; requires protected sites in warmer climatic zones.

'Brebwell' is an excellent choice for orchardists in milder climates looking to provide high-quality, long-storing winter apples that appeal to both the eyes and the palate.
