Investing in a late harvest: the potential of Mas Seeds LMX 3161 X LFH 1940

French breeding from Mas Seeds in the LMX 3161 X LFH 1940 hybrid offers farmers a solution tailored for high-yield operations. This late-maturing corn hybrid is designed for those willing to leverage a longer growing season to achieve maximum biological yield.

Versatility and grain structure

The key feature of this hybrid is its yellow-orange dent-type grain. This morphology ensures an optimal balance between high dry matter density and efficient moisture release during maturation. With its versatile application profile, the hybrid provides farmers with flexibility, making the harvest suitable for both the food industry and high-energy livestock feed production.

Strengths and challenges

• Productivity: As a late-maturing hybrid, it maximizes heat units, allowing for significantly higher starch and biomass accumulation compared to mid-season counterparts.
• Market flexibility: The product is highly sought after in both the grain trade and the forage sector.
• Climate sensitivity: Like any late-maturity variety, it requires stable temperatures late in the season. While ideal for regions with extended summers, it carries risks in areas prone to early autumn frosts.

This Mas Seeds hybrid is not for those seeking quick fixes, but for those focusing on systematic planning. If your soil quality and climate allow you to stay in the field until full maturity, LMX 3161 X LFH 1940 will reward you with a record gross yield, outperforming standard mid-season varieties due to its extended grain-filling period.
