Albatross Odeskiy / Albatross Odeskyi

The Albatross Odeskiy wheat variety is a modern and promising representative of winter soft wheat, developed at the Selection-Genetic Institute of the National Center for Seed Production and Variety Evaluation in Odesa. This variety belongs to the universal type and is intended for cultivation in the steppe and forest-steppe zones of Ukraine. It is characterized by high yield, reaching up to 79.5 centners per hectare, as well as a complex of adaptive properties that enable it to successfully compete with weeds and withstand various climatic conditions of the region.

Albatross Odeskiy is characterized by high frost and drought resistance, rated at 8-9 points, which ensures stable development and preservation of crops under adverse weather conditions. The variety is resistant to major fungal diseases, such as brown, stem, and yellow rust, as well as powdery mildew, which reduces the need for intensive plant protection and increases the economic efficiency of cultivation. The semi-compact growth habit helps fill and regenerate damaged areas of the crop, ensuring uniform plant development.

The grain of the Albatross Odeskiy variety has high quality: it is red in color, oval in shape, and medium-sized. The protein and gluten content in the grain meet international standards, making this variety attractive for various uses. The variety requires a 40-45-day vernalization period, making it relatively resilient to late sowing. Due to its characteristics, Albatross Odeskiy is a reliable choice for farmers aiming to achieve high-quality yields in the southern steppes of Ukraine.
