Termez F1 Watermelon is an early-maturing hybrid of the Crimson Sweet type, developed by the Dutch breeding company Enza Zaden. The vegetative period is 60-65 days when grown from seedlings, and it is also suitable for direct sowing in open ground and under plastic coverings. The plant is compact, well-balanced, with a strong leaf canopy, produces 1-2 fruits per plant, and exhibits high stress tolerance, quickly recovering from adverse conditions. The hybrid is resistant to fusarium wilt, enhancing its reliability under various climatic conditions.
The fruits of the Termez watermelon have a round-oval shape, uniform in size, weighing 9-11 kg. The skin is dense and thick, light green with stripes, providing excellent protection for the flesh during transport and maintaining market appearance over long distances. The flesh is a vibrant, juicy, sweet red, with a sugar content of 10-12% on the Brix scale. The fruits are uniform, free from cavities, with a small number of black seeds, making them attractive to consumers and easy to process.
Termez watermelon is widely used in fresh markets and is suitable for juice production, fruit slices, and home pickling. The hybrid is suitable for cultivation on various soil types and is recommended to be planted at a density of 6,000-9,000 plants per hectare. The harvest can be stored for several weeks in a dark, cool, and ventilated place, enabling effective sales planning and utilization of the fruit at different times.
