Tigris F1 Watermelon is a mid-season seedless hybrid of the new generation, developed by the Dutch breeding company Hazera. It is intended for transplanting and has an early maturity period: from transplanting to harvest, it takes 70-75 days. The plant is long-vined, with abundant foliage and a well-developed root system, ensuring active growth under warm, calm weather and high solar activity. The hybrid requires a pollinator to set up to five fruits simultaneously. The hybrid demonstrates resistance to major diseases of melon crops and responds well to intensive agronomy under moderate watering.
The fruits of Tigris watermelon have a round shape and small size, weighing up to 2-2.5 kg. The medium-thick, dense rind reliably protects the flesh from damage, ensuring excellent storage and transport qualities. The fruit skin is bright green with narrow dark stripes resembling a tiger pattern. The flesh is a deep red color, uniform, without fibers or veins, with a dense structure and high juice and sugar content. The flavor is sufficiently sweet, juicy, with a distinct honey aroma, and the sugar content (Brix) is 10-11%.
Tigris F1 watermelon is suitable for both fresh consumption and processing. Thanks to its qualities and compact size, it is convenient for market sales and is popular among consumers who value high quality and ease of use. The early maturity allows obtaining a harvest with first-class characteristics and entering the market earlier than other varieties.
