Watermelon Tigris

Why Tigris sets a new standard for melon production

The Tigris watermelon from the Israeli breeding company Hazera is the choice for growers shifting from extensive cultivation to a 'premium market' format. Unlike traditional hybrids, this seedless type is essential for the HoReCa sector and consumers who value convenience and quality.

Key Advantages

• Portability and Logistics: With a fruit weight of 1.5–3.0 kg, Tigris fits perfectly into the 'personal-sized' watermelon concept. They are easy to transport, save shelf space, and fit comfortably in the consumer's refrigerator.
• Efficiency: A 70–80 day vegetation period allows for a stable harvest early in the season when market prices are at their peak.
• Investment Protection: Resistance to Fusarium wilt is a fundamental requirement for professional watermelon farming. The variety performs reliably in intensive growing environments, reducing the risk of crop loss from soil-borne pathogens.

Who is this variety for?

Tigris is optimal for farmers targeting the fresh produce market. Its uniform round shape and vibrant red flesh ensure excellent marketability. However, it is important to note that like any seedless hybrid, Tigris requires strict adherence to agronomic practices and the presence of a pollinator in the field, making it a professional-grade solution. If your goal is to deliver a premium, seedless product that stands out on the shelf, this Hazera hybrid provides a robust foundation for your season.
