Orange King

Watermelon Orange King F1 — an ultra-early hybrid from the Korean breeding company Nong Woo Bio, designed for early commercial production. The ripening period is only 55-60 days from seedling transplant, enabling rapid harvest. The plant features strong, robust stems and abundant foliage, which helps retain fruit set even under adverse growing conditions. The hybrid is resistant to Fusarium wilt and easily adapts to various agronomic conditions, including open-field and greenhouse cultivation. Watermelon Orange King fruits have a round-oval shape and light-green rind with dark stripes. Average fruit weight is 8-11 kg, with rind thickness of 9-10 mm, ensuring excellent storage and transportability over long distances without loss of quality or flavor. The flesh is bright yellow, tender, juicy, and crisp, without fibers or voids. It has a strong aroma and high sugar content — from 11 to 13% — making the taste especially sweet and pleasant. For successful cultivation, crop rotation with predecessors such as corn, legumes, and wheat is recommended. The recommended planting density is 6-8 thousand plants per hectare, enabling yields of 40 to 80 tons per hectare.
