Watermelon Success

Technical Profile of the 'Uspekh' Watermelon Variety

The 'Uspekh' (Success) watermelon is a result of advanced breeding by the Federal Scientific Center for Vegetable Growing. This variety is designed for professional cultivation, focusing on stable output and high marketability in diverse agro-climatic conditions.

Biological and Physical Specifications

• Morphology: The variety features a classic round shape, which facilitates efficient stacking and minimizes waste during transportation.
• Weight Parameters: The fruit reaches a commercial weight of 8.0 to 10.0 kg, hitting the specific size demand of standard retail distribution channels.
• Pulp Composition: The flesh is characterized by a delicate pink hue. The breeding focus here prioritizes a balanced chemical composition, ensuring consistent sugar accumulation and texture.

Agronomic Advantages

Developed at the Vegetable Experimental Station, this variety incorporates genetic resistance to regional field stressors and temperature fluctuations. For the grower, this translates into a higher probability of consistent yields in open-field production systems. The plant exhibits robust physiological mechanisms for nutrient uptake, and the fruit skin is engineered for durability during harvesting processes. 'Uspekh' is an ideal selection for producers who require a dependable, low-risk variety that meets the standard market requirements for size, appearance, and post-harvest shelf life.
