The Russich watermelon is an early-maturing hybrid known for its high yield and excellent taste qualities. The period from germination to harvest is 65-84 days, allowing for fresh fruit to be obtained in a short time. The plant is trailing with medium-sized leaves, and the fruits have a wide-elliptical shape with green coloring and characteristic dark green prickly stripes. The mass of one watermelon varies from 2.7 to 3.7 kg, although according to the data of the originator, it can reach up to 11 kg. The flesh of the fruits is red, dense, and has a good taste, making this variety ideal for fresh consumption.
Russich is distinguished by its high drought resistance, which allows it to be cultivated in various climatic conditions, including the North Caucasus and East Siberian regions. Yield under dry conditions reaches 201-216 centners per hectare, and in some regions, it can be even higher. Watermelons of this variety are well transported and maintain their marketable qualities for 30 days after harvest, making them convenient for sales and storage.
For successful cultivation, it is recommended to maintain optimal planting density and choose appropriate predecessors, such as potatoes, cabbage, and legumes. The Russich variety is suitable for cultivation in both personal and commercial enterprises due to its high productivity, resistance to adverse conditions, and attractive fruit appearance.
