The Sinchevsky watermelon variety is a mid-season variety with a vegetative period of 80 to 90 days. The fruits have a classic spherical shape with smooth light green rind, decorated with prickly dark green stripes, sometimes forming a net-like pattern. The rind thickness ranges from 1.0 to 1.5 cm, it is leathery and pliable. The mass of marketable fruits varies from 5 to 20 kg, while the average weight is usually around 6 kg, and the maximum can reach 18 kg. Seeds are large, black, patternless, with a 1000-seed mass of 130-135 grams.
The watermelon flesh is bright raspberry or intense pink in color, coarse-grained, juicy, tender, and very sweet. The dry matter content in the juice reaches 15%, and the overall sugar level is about 10.2%, which ensures excellent taste qualities of the fruits. The plants are long-trailing, which is characteristic of this variety.
The Sinchevsky variety is distinguished by high yield, reaching up to 3 kg per square meter, and resistance to a number of diseases, including fusarium wilt, powdery mildew, anthracnose, and bacterial infection. It withstands adverse climatic conditions and long-distance transport well, which makes it suitable for industrial cultivation and commercial use.
